Introduction
MARIANNE is a well-proportioned room with yellow ochre textiles and brown and bronze fabrics covering the generous double bed and twin armchairs with an ancient exposed-beam ceiling above. A brass drinks trolley beckons opposite double window-shutters which conceal a beautiful wrought-iron screen providing shade to the natural light beyond.

MARIANNE FAITHFULL was only 17 when the pop song As Tears Go By turned her into a star overnight in 1964, and she was in her early twenties when her relationship with MICK JAGGER made her a tabloid muse.
