A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
By visiting us, you become part of the HOUSE OF FRIENDS at IZZA. The Freedom Seekers of the past came here to find something. What they discovered changed their lives. This place will do the same for you.
Berber hospitality - The true art of service is to be invisible.
We each take a deep personal satisfaction in learning our guests’ rhythms and, in a short time, we’ll know what you need before you need to ask us. We offer a variety of room services from laundry, in-room dining to butler service — but we do it in such a way that you’ll hardly know we are there.
Ours is the same Berber hospitality that drew hedonist intellectuals to Morocco in days past. A time which aligned the stars with long, party-filled nights. Our contemporary guests — whom we call Freedom Seekers — experience the same escapism that was such a magnetic force for those before them.
Managing Director - Son of a winegrower, Rémi was raised in the southwest of France where home consisted of a large welcoming family and his house was always open to friends and family gatherings. This people-oriented background led to Remi's desire to work in an industry where he could uncover a luxury sense of hosting, resulting in memorable experiences in his guests' lives.
Remi earned his stripes in Parisian Palaces, such as The Ritz and Hotel de Crillon hotels where he climbed the ladder at Guest Relations and Room divisions to gain an expert knowledge of a hotel keystone. He participated in the Hotel de Crillon reopening project with a focus on the Rooms Department, which was one of the most exciting projects of his career. From there, he joined Rosewood Group as Director of Rooms in Phnom Penh and then Hong Kong, before EAM positions taught him how to navigate both cultural and pandemic challenges.
His desire to return closer to home with his combined cultural and luxury experience has now brought him to join IZZA, defining this refined ‘house of friends’ project that echoes back to his childhood and sense-of-place values. “Bringing IZZA to life along with an incredibly talented and passionate team in such a colourful and vibrant city is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
IZZA will undoubtedly become a destination within itself in the Medina of Marrakech and we look forward to welcoming our guests to this incredible ‘house of friends’.”
