The Concept.
We’ve re-launched our panoramic rooftop bar & restaurant. Dining at Noujoum is an expedition, not just for your palate but for your soul - a celebration of art, culture and the finest gastronomy.
Taking its name from the home of the late American socialite-designer Bill Willis, who has heavily inspired the design and aesthetic of IZZA, Noujoum is a rooftop destination comprised of interlinking riads and their terraces, with stunning views across the bustling Medina - an ideal location from which to enjoy sunsets and suppers under the stars.
The Menu.
In our true ‘House of Friends’ style, our menu consists of both small and sharing plates with a variety of dishes that showcase the best Morocco has to offer, combining traditional cooking methods with a European influence and Mediterranean flair.
Our seasonal menu, which focuses on local and sustainable produce, has been carefully curated by British consultant chef, Paul Weaver, and is executed to perfection by our fantastic Head Chef, Ahmad El Hardoum.
Our local suppliers include vendors in the souk as well as local organic farms and the IZZA rooftop garden. By supporting local growers, pickers and vineyards we help both artisans and entrepreneurs and ensure the culture and traditions of Morocco can be tasted on every plate and drunk in every glass.

THE BAR.
With every great menu comes a great serve. We have a fantastic rooftop bar serving local wines & beers and bespoke cocktails carefully curated by head bartenders Rebecca & Jonas.

The Chef.
AHMAD ELHARDOUM
~ IZZA Head Chef
Ahmad’s passion for combining cooking and the hotel industry goes all the way back to his childhood, where he worked with his brother in a small hotel in their hometown of Errachidia in eastern central Morocco.
After gaining a diploma of technician in hotel management, Ahmad specialised in cooking and, over the last 15 years, has worked as Chef de Partie in a number of well-known hotels and restaurants in Marrakech. These include Crystal Pacha, The Kenzi Menara Hotel, the Hotel Le Palais Paysan and, most recently, as Chef de Cuisine at El Fenn.

The Art.
Sitting within the ‘Museum In The Medina’, dining at Noujoum is akin to traversing through a living museum of contemporary art. Every step is an intimate embrace with world-class artistry, starting with the powerful gaze of Leila Alaoui's subjects from her 'Les Moroccains' series.
Diners can explore our £5 million collection of traditional and digital art works throughout the property, such as Sebastião Salgado’s Amazonia NFT series, Ethiopian artist Yatreda’s ‘motion portraits’ which beckon you into a mesmerizing dance, and Turkish-American artist Refik Anadol’s machine-learnt shifting sands.

Noujoum is the rooftop restaurant of luxury boutique hotel, IZZA. With fourteen distinctive bedrooms, three courtyards and two pools, IZZA is the home of luxury, culture & art.

The original Freedom Seeker.
A young Bill Willis left home to find his future and settled in Marrakech whilst forging a legendary career as interior designer to an array of famous, creative and entrepreneurial emigres who began new lives here. A notorious bon vivant, Bill was the ultimate host. At IZZA, our bar celebrates both his magnetic charm and his notoriously hedonistic celebrity soirees.
A decadent place to enjoy drinks, its floor is a tribute to one of his projects, the recreation of Rick’s bar in Casablanca. The zellige and tadelakt walls are hand-carved with numerous delicate candlelit niches. Our expertly-tendered bar offers a myriad of local and international spirits, tonics, mixers and well-shaken (or stirred) cocktails to revive the spirit and stir the soul.
